Eaton Vance Management has recruited Clifton Bowie (Bo) Hunt to join the international arm of the firm as a v.p and global high-yield analyst, reporting to Jeffrey Mueller, v.p. and high-yield portfolio manager.

High-yield strategies have become increasingly popular in the low-yield environment for both traditional fixed income portfolios and defensive equities portfolios. Investors have been increasingly going out the risk spectrum in fixed interest in the search for yield.

Hunt is based in London and is responsible for analysing and evaluating the creditworthiness of high-yield bond issuers and for making timely investment recommendations.

Jeff Mueller said: “The appointment marks the latest in a series of strategic steps to enhance Eaton Vance’s high yield and broader fixed income offerings. “Bo’s appointment comes at a very exciting time for our strategy, and he will be a great addition to our team.

“His in-depth experience and understanding of fixed income markets bolsters our global investment research capabilities and strengthens our investment offerings.”

Hunt joins from Fidelity International in London, where he served most recently as a credit analyst in the firm’s fixed income division. Prior to joining Fidelity, he was a distressed credit analyst within the global credit and special situations group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.
