The Rainmaker Information goup’s MAX Awards, organised by its publication ‘Financial Standard’, seem to have taken on a life of their own. The ‘people’s choice’ type of voting has created an increasing amount of interest in the industry each year in the lead-up to the awards night.

Nominated companies muster support from staff, from friends, and even from family to get their votes in. Under the rules you can only vote once and you can’t vote from a private IP such as Hotmail or Gmail – in an attempt to limit gaming by getting votes from outside the industry.

Apart from the super fund-specific awards produced by AIST, the MAX Awards are the only ones which recognise the distribution side of the industry and the people involved. It is our view, at Investor Strategy News, that they should be supported. Voting closes next Monday (May 22) and the awards will be presented at a gala dinner in Sydney on June 15.

In the interests of full transparency, this is how we have voted, unashamedly voting only for people we like, but we also believe do a great job. So, if you want to follow my guidance, please vote for:
