Despite the expansion of several Australian technology companies in Europe and elsewhere in recent years, only two are ranked in the world’s top 100 tech vendors to financial services companies, according to the long-running ranking by American Banker magazine and researcher Financial Insights.

Bravura Solutions, which has made the top 100 for seven years, moved up the list slightly this year from 73rd place to 70th. GBST was the other Australian firm to make the cut, coming in at 80th.

Several international firms with long Australian histories, and which have bought Australian companies, are in the list, such as DST International and SimCorp.

The ranking, called the FinTech 100, has been published for 10 years. It includes only tech firms which have more than one-third of their revenue from sales to financial services companies.

Tony Klim, Bravura’s London-based chief executive, said the company had had a number of new sales and completed projects over the previous financial year. These included eight new contracts signed with financial institutions such as Bank of New York Mellon and VicSuper, more than 30 completed implementations and more than 50 client upgrades.
